According to Černochová, the aid is worth about four billion kroner, and the Czech Republic can get most of it from EU funds.

“Our recognition success rate is about eighty percent,” she noted. The European Union could start paying the money in the coming months.

“We want to continue to help, because even the way the front is currently developing is proof that the Czech Republic’s approach to sending military materials to Ukraine was correct,” she said. She added that the Czech Republic is also providing humanitarian aid.

“In the past weeks, several Ukrainian soldiers on the front lines have been treated here, and they have already been repatriated after their recovery,” she said.

The Czechs helped early

The minister noted that thanks to the fact that the Czech Republic was one of the first countries to send weapons to Ukraine, Czech arms companies have a chance for closer cooperation with Ukraine. She stated that the Czech Republic can count on several funds as part of its assistance to Ukraine.

At the summer donor conference in Copenhagen, the participating countries agreed to release about 36.5 billion kroner. The money will also go towards increasing the production capacity of military equipment for the benefit of Ukraine.

The Czechs presented at the conference about 50 industrial projects, which often the Czech defense industry can implement in the coming months or years in cooperation with the Ukrainians.

The United States also announced last week that Washington intends to provide Ukraine and 18 other countries with a total of $2 billion in loans and subsidies for the purchase of American weapons.

According to the AP, the Czech Republic should also be among these countries. According to Černochová, the parameters of this fund are not yet known.

Winter will appear

On Tuesday, Černochová participated in the meeting of the Defense Committee of the Chamber of Deputies, which discussed the current situation in Ukraine in closed session. She did not wish to comment on the details for not publicizing the information provided.

She said recent developments on the front looked very positive. At the meeting, the committee members were briefed by correspondents on the front’s progress and possible future developments.

“Of course, winter awaits us, which is always decisive in war conflicts in terms of the supplies available, and the conditions one has in order to survive the winter at the front,” she said.

“I think we can be a bit optimistic about that,” she added.

At the same time, she highlighted what Ukraine has achieved so far. According to her, it can be seen that when a person fights for his country and has a personal cause, his commitment is huge.
