It also dealt with the subject of persons restricted in their liberty, ie the issue of institutions in which persons are imprisoned and in which their rights may be violated.

“I went to discuss further cooperation with him, the conversation was not pleasant at all. I left him with a very unpleasant feeling that no agenda would be returned to me, and that I should not go to any meetings. I was not treated as a representative of the Public Defender of Rights. The only thing What I was offered was that I would be assigned individually on an ad hoc basis. Like my colleagues. At that moment, this was the limit for me, and I could no longer go beyond it, ”said Semenkova.

Then she took a leave of absence and concluded that she could not and did not want to continue to do so. “No one has sat in my place for 2.5 years. This is the culmination of all this difficult time. For me, cooperation is no longer possible, trust is broken. Mr. Kojic is lying and I do not want to continue working with such a person. I am very sorry, I will miss the job and my colleagues very much. Semenkova said.

Semenkova was elected to the post of Deputy Public Defender of Rights by the Chamber of Deputies in November 2019, when Anna Shapatova was the Ombudsperson.
