Former Bosnian Serb officer and Republika Srpska army commander, Ratko Mladic, who is serving a life sentence in The Hague for genocide and war crimes, is in hospital due to his deteriorating health. His son Darko Mladic told AFP that his father was hospitalized a week ago. Neither Darko Mladic nor the prison administration identified the problems the former general had.

Reported that the health status of the convicts classified information. According to Darko Mladic, his father was under the supervision of doctors for a week, at first he was in a civilian hospital and since Thursday in prison.
For health reasons, the defense requested the acquittal of Mladic in the Hague court until the final verdict in 2021. According to lawyers, the former soldier suffers from dementia.
Mladic, now 79, was convicted of genocide in connection with the Srebrenica massacre and other crimes committed during the 1992-1995 Bosnia-Herzegovina War.
He only appeared in court in 2011, before that he had been hiding from justice for years.
