Tennis players Barbora Krizhikova and Kachina Sinyakova reached the round of 16 in doubles at the US Open Grand Prix. The third-seeded pair defeated Romanian-American couples Anna Bogdanova and Sabrina Santamaria twice 6:2. In the next stage, they will face Japanese-Taiwanese duo Šúko Aojamová and Chan Chao-ching.
The 26-year-old Czech woman started less than twenty-four hours after completing the opening round against Romanian Monica Niculescu and Gabriela Ross. They may not appear tired. They won their opening five matches and took the entire first set in twenty-seven minutes.
“It was definitely a better match from our side,” Siniakova told Czech reporters after the match.

Lucie Hradecká successfully started the tournament in mixed doubles. The 37-year-old Prague native, along with Paul Lucas Kubota, defeated eight-seeded Mattois Middelkoop and Demi Schurz of the Netherlands twice 6:4.
