Online: Ukrainians bomb Russian positions in the south of the country. The Russians change their positions because of this

The Southern Command of the Ukrainian Forces announced that the Ukrainian forces continue to destroy Russian logistics routes, reserves and command posts. In response to a new counterattack in southern Ukraine, Russian forces are adjusting their positions and moving convoys of military equipment from Crimea and Melitopol, according to analysts from the American Institute for the Study of War (ISW). According to ISW, the new Ukrainian offensive appears to be shifting priorities on the entire battlefield.

Ukrainian forces focused fire on bridges in the occupied Kherson region and damaged them in order to limit their use as much as possible, according to the order.

The Ukrainian Air Force bombed 16 Russian strongholds, ammunition depots and places where Moscow gathered troops, weapons and other equipment.

The information provided by one of the belligerents during the conflict cannot be independently verified.

In a new analysis, ISW also reports the decommissioning of bridges in the Kherson region, according to which Ukrainians are also attacking floating ferries across the Dnieper River. According to analysts, Ukrainian and Russian sources reported that Ukrainian forces struck a pontoon bridge built by Russian forces near the important Antonevsky Bridge.

The Antonevsky Bridge was an important supply route for the Russians and allowed them to reach the lands they occupied on the western bank of the Dnieper River. In recent weeks, the ferries have been repeatedly attacked by Ukrainian forces, and Russian forces and local residents have relied on the ferries after they were destroyed.

According to ISW, the Ukrainian counterattack, which Kyiv announced without much detail at the beginning of this week, will take longer as a comprehensive operation.

The Kremlin will likely use the delay between announcing a counterattack and retaking Kherson, as well as Kyiv’s tactical silence on the activities of its forces, to portray the Ukrainian advance as a failure, ISW writes.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky previously stated that nothing concrete would be revealed by anyone responsible for the military plans in Kyiv. He advised Russian soldiers to flee the occupied territories.
