According to the President of the Czech Senate, Milos Vestrel (ODS), overcoming the European energy crisis is linked to support for Ukraine, which is facing Russian aggression. He told reporters after meeting with Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba that he had pushed her out.

“If we are to overcome the European energy crisis, we must continue to support Ukraine,” said Vestrel. He stated that behind the energy crisis the aggressive incursion of Russian forces into Ukraine. He considers it important to return energy prices to “reasonable values”, which the Czechs will defend at the European level. “We are fighting an economic war with Russia and we have to do everything we can to win it,” he said.

“It is necessary to reduce electricity prices and, if possible, gas in Europe, and thus create conditions, or continue in a state that would allow Ukraine to be subsidized,” Vestrel said. According to him, Kuleba expressed his understanding of this. “A weak Europe can hardly help Ukraine,” Vestrel added.
