Football actor Jakub Besch underwent surgery on the cruciate ligament in his knee. The 29-year-old midfielder will be absent from Sparta Prague and the national team for several months. The Letensk Club reported this on social networks.
Pesek underwent surgery at the Central Military Hospital in Prague. For similar injuries, the usual treatment time is at least half a year, and in the case of a longer recovery, the player will face the end of the season.
Pesek was injured on August 20 during a match in Mladá Boleslav and has not played since. At the start of the season, he was part of the starting line-up for new Sparta coach Brian Brisky. In the last league year, he scored seven goals and six assists, and his level in the fall earned him a place in the national team. He scored four goals in the national team in 15 matches.
Sparta is troubled by the injuries of its important midfielders, Slovakia representative Lukas Haraslin and captain Ladislav Krije Jr. are also out. Defender Ondřej Čelůstka also suffers from long-term health problems.
