Besides, interest in tests is also growing. In the past seven days, the labs carried out nearly 48,400 tests, a week ago, it was about 44,000.

Their positivity increases, too. For preventive testing, it hit nearly eight percent on Thursday, a week ago it was less than five percent. The most common diagnostic tests performed by people who show symptoms revealed infection with the virus in more than 32 percent of the people tested. It was an increase of 1.5 percentage points.

In the case of epidemiological tests, which are performed, for example, due to contact with an infected person, positivity increased by about one percentage point above 19 percent.

There are 112 infected per 100,000 residents in the past seven days. Thus, the so-called number of accidents has increased by ten since last week. The worst case was in the Hradec Kralove region, where over the past week it recorded 133 cases per 100,000 inhabitants. On the contrary, in the Karlovy Vary region, the infection rate is 95, which is the lowest in the Czech Republic.

The number of hospitalized patients with coronavirus did not change significantly during the week. Last Thursday, there were 761 patients in hospitals, 44 more than now. But the number of seriously ill patients has increased. A week ago there were 24 people, currently 35.
